UMngomezulu the modest producer from South Africa who discovered music production in 2009 after completing a diploma in music production. He has his music on imprints such as Candid Beings, Deepershades, Deep Obsession and Afromove records.

His music can only be described as “Emotional Dreamlike”. A mixture of Deep, Soulful House, comprising of deep slow moving grooves, with warm melodies, melancholic piano touches, distorted soulful vocals and hypnotic atmospheres that aspire to suck you deep into his dreamworld.

12 years ago but started playing around with music software in 2004

House Music

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
The love of House Music through different music compilations from the likes of Vinny Da Vinci, Brett Jackson, Christos, Troydon, 2Lani De Warrior and more.

What are your biggest musical influences?
Gospel, Jazz, Soul, House, Maskandi and Umbhaqanga

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I’m an independent artist

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Time to make music has been my biggest challenge, lack of information and rejection from record labels.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
About 21 songs its actually 3 Eps and singles independently and released on other record labels.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
“The Moonlight Ep” is an independent release that caters for Deep House lovers its a touch of Deep Organic Melodic House with that emotional dreamlike music. It has been out since 29 October 2021

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Yes I’m excited about my second release which is a remix under Deepershades Recordings its by the owner of the label and I have been invited to remix its titled “Lars Behrenroth – The Beach (UMngomezulu Remix)”
