John Michael Ferrari and Pepper Jay, his music producer for over 3 decades, split their time between Nashville and their ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. John Michael Ferrari writes, arranges, and performs his original country pop crossover jazz gospel songs. For his perceived lack of respect for musical genres, John Michael Ferrari was named “Crossover Artist of the Year” by the New Music Awards and the Independent Music Network.
John Michael Ferrari’s recently released crossover album “I Keep Dreaming” won “Best Album of the Year – Silver” at the International Singer Songwriter Association in Atlanta, Georgia, where Ferrari performed. Several tracks on the album have reached acclaim as well as radio charts. Presently getting attention is Ferrari’s unique track, a country traveling ballad, “I Keep Rollin’ On”.
In August, 2024, “I Keep Rollin’ On” was named “Best New Country” by the West Coast Country Music Association, which also named “Bring Me Home,” his gospel song about going to Heaven, “Best New Gospel” and “Songwriter of the Year”.
Other tracks also landed on both Country Radio and Mainstream Radio Chart including “One Heck of a Girl”, “Who’s That Girl?” and “Music With You, all of reached the hit #1 spot and Ferrari was #3 “Most Popular 2023” on the Museboat Live Channel, #6 on Trend City Radio, and #3 in the Ignition Country UK Radio Contest 2024.
“Who’s That Girl?”, a soft rock dance country pop Americana song about seeing a girl you like also attracted considerable attention. In real life, John Michael Ferrari and Pepper Jay were at a square dance. A 9 year old was standing next to them when a beautiful 15 year old walked in with her best square dance attire. “Who’s that girl? I want to dance with her!” And he did … many, many times. “Who’s That Girl” was #3 “Most Popular 2023” on the Museboat Live Channel, #6 on the Trend City Show, and #3 in the Ignition Country UK Radio Contest.

I had nowhere else to go.

Indie. Pepper Jay and I call our indie: Cappy Records
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Survival. Like every full time musician, we rely on our talent to keep a roof over our heads and food on usually someone else’s table.

4 Albums. 1 EP, several singles.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
“I Keep Rollin’ On” is about a man who loses the love of his life and becomes a travelling gambler who is blessed with a winning streak. He comes to find what he really wants in life is just peace of mind.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Yes. I have a new Xmas song that I wrote with Pearl Seeback and Pepper Jay “I Want You For Xmas”.
