Where are you based?
Henry, Tennessee

How long have you been making music?
Over fifty years.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
Americana, because I cross many boundaries when I write my music.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Growing up listening to Gospel and Country Music. I started playing professionally when I was twelve years old.

What are your biggest musical influences?
I’m a Tennessee boy, so I have a whole lot of Memphis, Nashville and Muscle Shoals, Alabama down in my soul.

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am an independent who started his own label so I could cross musical boundaries and not be told it’s impossible to accomplish. I have had hits in several genres which include Christian, Country, Blues and Rock.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
As an independent, I have to compete which artist who have the backing of a major label and that means they have a a much larger budget to promote their music. So when I chart and my name is next to an artist on a major label, it makes me smile.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Over the years I have had fifteen albums, but presently there are four on the streaming platforms. I have others to follow very soon though.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
“That Muscle Shoals Sound” is a tribute song for Jimmy Johnson and The Swampers, (Barry Beckett, David Hood and Roger Hawkins). The song lyrics tell the story of a hopefully guitar player who thumbs a ride to Muscle Shoals to get a job at the Muscle Shoals Sound recording studio. The storyline is fashioned loosely around Duane Allman’s venture to Muscle Shoals and my own experience in the music business.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
There are more singles and albums waiting in the wings. I just want to thank everyone for all of the support you keep giving me. Without my family, friends and fans, my music would be unknown.
