For Alex, music is more than a profession. It’s a way to turn emotions into melodies and create songs that people can connect with, fall in love to, and remember.
Where are you based?
Dubai
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember. Music has always been a part of my life. I’ve walked away from it more than once, but somehow I always find my way back. I guess that’s how you know it’s something you truly love. No matter how many times you try to leave it behind, the music never really leaves you.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
I don’t think I’ve found one specific genre that defines me yet. And honestly, I’m not sure I want to. I love experimenting with different sounds, from emotional pop to rock. I’m still exploring, evolving, and discovering who I am as an artist. What matters most to me is making music that touches people. Songs that make you feel something, that remind you of someone, that stay with you long after they end. I don’t make music just to sell songs. I want to sell something you can’t put a price on: emotion. For me, music isn’t about fitting into a genre. It’s about making people feel alive.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
To be honest, I don’t even remember. I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember, so I can’t point to one particular moment or person who inspired me. Sometimes I feel like I was simply born with this desire to create music. It’s always been a part of who I am. I didn’t really choose music. In a way, I think music chose me. And no matter where life takes me, I know one thing for sure: without music, I would lose a part of myself. I don’t just write music. I write the soundtracks to people’s lives.
What are your biggest musical influences?
I grew up listening to hip-hop and rap. That was my first real connection with music. But as I got older, my musical world became much bigger. Today, I don’t limit myself to any particular genre or artist. I listen to everything, from pop and rock to electronic music and sounds I can’t even put into a category. Working in the music industry has completely changed the way I listen. Sometimes I don’t even listen to music just for pleasure anymore. I hear the production, the arrangements, the emotions behind every sound. I believe every genre has something to teach you. Inspiration can come from anywhere, even from a song you would never normally choose to play. I don’t have a favorite genre. I have a favorite feeling: when music gives me goosebumps.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
At the moment, I’m an independent artist, and I’m not signed to a record label. My life is deeply connected to music, and right now I’m involved in several creative projects. One of my biggest priorities is developing my wife, LUVATOY, as an artist. It’s a music project I’m personally producing and helping to build from the ground up. Watching her grow creatively and being part of that journey is something very special to me. At the same time, I work in the music and entertainment industry as an art director at a nightclub in Dubai. So even when I’m not releasing my own music, I’m constantly surrounded by it. Music isn’t just something I do. It’s the world I live in.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
I think my biggest challenge has always been burnout. I’ve been making music for so many years, and there have been moments when I genuinely felt like nobody needed what I was creating. You put your heart into a song, spend countless hours working on it, and sometimes the world simply doesn’t notice. I think every artist knows that feeling. You start questioning your talent, your purpose, and whether any of it is worth continuing. Sometimes that disappointment turns into a really dark period. I’ve walked away from music more than once because of it. But the strange thing is, the very thing that breaks your heart is also the thing that puts it back together. Every time I lose myself, I eventually return to music. And somehow, music heals me. Music has broken me more than once. But it has also saved me every single time.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
My last official release was about a year ago. Since then, I’ve been taking some time to rethink my sound and explore new creative directions. Right now, I’m working on a major new album that will introduce a more experimental side of me as an artist. I’m not rushing the process. I want to create something that feels fresh, unexpected, and genuinely different from anything I’ve done before. Sometimes you need to disappear for a while to come back with something worth listening to.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My latest release is a reflection of something I’ve always loved about music: the freedom to experiment. This time, I decided to step outside my comfort zone and explore rock, especially its more modern, instrumental side. I’ve always been fascinated by how powerful real instruments can sound and how much emotion they can express without needing too many words. I don’t believe an artist should be trapped in one genre. I love discovering new sounds, breaking my own rules, and challenging myself creatively. For me, experimenting isn’t about following trends. It’s about staying curious and constantly evolving. I never want to make the same music twice. I want every new project to reveal a different side of who I am.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Absolutely! Right now, I’m putting a lot of my time, energy, and creativity into writing and producing music for LUVATOY. It’s a project that’s very close to my heart, and I’m genuinely excited about what we’re creating together. At the same time, I’m preparing my own new release, which will be another experiment for me. This time, I want to explore a more intimate, guitar-driven sound. There’s something incredibly honest about a guitar and a voice. No complicated production, no unnecessary layers. Just a melody, a story, and real emotions. I think sometimes the simplest music can touch people the deepest. Maybe that’s what I’m searching for right now: not a bigger sound, but a deeper feeling.
