Duplexity is an Indie Rock duo from Beverly Hills, CA. Formed by teen siblings Savannah Judy 17 and Luke Judy 16. Luke and Savannah have been performing their whole lives but recently decided to take their talents into the studio and create their original sound. The music is inspired by 90’s alternative rock sometimes channeling a hint of metal mixed to have a modern feel. Their debut single “Billboards” is a nod to their 10 year child actor journey they started when moving to LA for acting opportunities. Their first EP is set to be released in October ’23 and will be an upbeat coming of age collection of songs that will speak to fellow Gen Z-ers. Both Savannah and Luke are accomplished singers who take turns on lead vocals while performing with a live band. Coming from a musical family Savannah is a bassist and they both play guitar among other instruments.

Where are you based?
I have been based in LA for the past 10 years. We moved to LA for acting opportunities when I was 6 years old.
How long have you been making music?
We have been making music as Duplexity since earlier this year. We have been performing live, making beats and writing songs for a few years. We started doff at The School of rock in LA when we were 11 and 12 years old.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
Our music is modern alternative rock. My favorite music is rock and roll so our music, especially the songs I take the lead on are heavily influenced by rock.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I’ve loved music my whole life. My family was always super into music and music has played a big role in all of our daily lives. My biggest inspiration is my sister, Savannah! I love that we are on this journey together and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.
What are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influence is Metallica. I’ve loved their music for a long time, and they are the reason why started playing guitar! Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, and Soundgarden are a very big influence to me too
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
We are independent, it was important for us to start out as independent. We have a strong vision for our band and our music. We want our debut sound to be as authentic as possible without any outside influence, other than our amazing team. One day, we of course hope to be signed by a major player in the music industry but we are young and enjoying every step of this amazing journey.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The biggest challenge so far has been realizing who supports you, who is in your corner and who isn’t. Finding out who your real friends are, is never easy. That being said we have met and grown close to some amazing people who are also on this journey, this has been the best part!
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
To date we have released 3 singles of our debut EP ‘Billboards’ which was released Oct 20th 2023. ‘Billboards is an eclectic 5 song EP where I sing lead for two songs, Savannah sings lead two songs and we have one duet. We can’t wait for the word to hear our music!
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
‘Demons’ is our latest release. It is an emotional song about when you have intrusive thoughts and are struggling emotionally. I sing lead on this song, Savannah sings back up and plays the bass. This is a song full of raw emotion and I really love performing it live because it gives a real chance to connect with the audience.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
We are in the final stage our second 5 song EP. We have finished all the vocals we are just finalizing the mix. We also have some music videos that we plan to start releasing the end of 2023 and into 2024. We would love to do our first tour. We have a lot planned for 2024, we cannot wait to take Duplexity to the next level!
