4 Years

What genre would you consider your music to be?
My music crosses genres and varies depending my inspiration at the time of producing. Mostly EDM, Soundtracks and R&B.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
For me music is personal. I have always wanted to produce music but never invested my personal time to do so over the years of having a family, working and coaching. After my recent divorce, I followed Deadmua5 career and was inspired after watching his Masterclass. I knew that learning the technical side of producing would come naturally since my background is in Information Technology.

What are your biggest musical influences?
I get inspiration from Deadmua5, Armin Van Buuren and Boris Brejcha when creating EDM; I pattern my style after Newton Howard, and Han Zimmer when producing soundtracks. I grew up listening to EDM, Rap, R&b and soundtracks.

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am currently independent.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Working in music industry is one big hustle. Producing music is the easiest part. Biggest challenge is marketing. The challenge with marketing is the cost involved to get your music out there. Learning how and who to advertise too, building and reaching your fan base. Building your social media profiles. Also, knowing who to trust. It is very hard for independent artist with very little money to succeed against label who have the advertising capital.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Three LPs and two singles not included on the LP. 40 songs in all. I have around 20 other unreleased tracks in waiting.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
True story behind me making “So Silent”. I coach high school girls’ basketball and I wanted to make a Hip Hop warm-up track for the girls. In the process of producing, I made “So Silent” along with the warm-up track for basketball team. Sometimes you have happy accidents while making a song and end up with several.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Yes, I want to continue to produce more Hip Hop, EDM and R&B tracks in the future. I still have a goal of bring my Darth Athena character to video and making music for video games and movies.
