Acoustic Indie/Emo
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
A desire to help people by giving them lyrics that they can relate to; so that they do not feel alone with their problems
What are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences are The Front Bottoms, Wilbur Soot, Tom Delonge of Blink-182, and Bob Dylan
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am an indipendend artist, but am looking for a label to help me make and promote my music
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The biggest challenges I feel are self-confidence and getting your music out there. What I mean by that is, I was very, very scared to start posting my music when I did. There was this nagging voice that went “these will all suck, and nobody likes them”. That was a big hurdle for me to get over originally. And then of course, getting your music out there is also very difficult through just word of mouth. I don’t have a lot of money to spend, so I don’t pay for advertisements. Every cent goes into making my music better.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I have released two EP’s, my most recent being Family Photo.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Family Photo, the new EP, is a look at the problems I face, and that includes parts of my family. Distant, Isolated, and Blood Test touch on that especially, as they talk about my diabetes, self-isolation, and the metaphorical and physical distance between me and some of my family. My 4 other siblings have all moved out, so the only family that is within walking distance is my mother. And that’s only because I live with her currently
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I always plan to make music. I’m working on new songs right now, but I’m nkt entirely sure when I’ll have new material out. Keep your eyes peeled for any, though!
