Where are you based?
I’m current based in Atlanta, Georgia. But my label is based both here and in Virginia
How long have you been making music?
For about 3 and a half years. Since 2018
What genre would you consider your music to be?
I’d consider it to be alternative R&B
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Growing up, I always admired R&B singer and rappers and loved how they could express themselves through music. It made me want to be like them and create music that told my story as well as create music the way I’d want to hear it.
What are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest influences are Michael Jackson, Drake, Partynextdoor, Tank and Joe
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I’m currently independent
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The biggest challenges have been to stay true to myself and stay patient. Learning these two things was very challenging, but rewarding. I’ve learned to create and move at my own pace, while remaining myself. And that has helped tremendously, even on bad days. I can look back and see how far I’ve come, while doing things my way
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I have 14 independent singles, 5 EP’s and a 1 mixtape (BRANDI)
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My latest release is my EP titled, “To Love A Woman”. It consists of three songs that tell a story of struggling with love, in today’s climate and dealing with women of 2021. This is a story/message that I’ve been wanting to get off my chest for a while and it’s also something that I feel is needed for men to hear and relate to. I love women and I love romance, but this EP is a story of how things can go downhill with a woman that you feel like is the one for you. It’s a story of hope and trust that turns into sorrow and feeling like you can’t say anything about how you feel.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I’m working with my partner, INDI5HUNNIT, who’s my producer/engineer, to finish my next EP. This EP is called “No Rings”, and it is the follow up to my last EP, “To Love A Woman”. So the story continues in “No Rings”. This should drop before the end of March
