Grandmaster Hizzle Neil ‘Grandmaster Hizzle’ Hannah is a British street artist and Hip-Hop producer from Luton. Now based in Harpenden England working from home. His inspiration is Hip-Hop culture. Involved in the scene since he was twelve years old it was from 2001-2012 he managed UK Hip-Hop trio Phi-Life Cypher who featured on the first Gorrilaz album and a controversial outspoken Hip-Hop crew. Phi-Life Cypher toured across the globe for over ten years with the likes of Public Enemy, Outcast, KRS One, Gangstar plus many others. In 2014 he shot his first documentary in Hollywood – a feature about KRS One. 2012-2015 he collaborated with French Graffiti artist Mr Shiz working on a number of vehicals and murals. From 2015-17 he was roadie for UK MC Chester P from north London Hip Hop crew Taskforce. It was at this time he also released a number of tunes under the name Nizzle Hizzle. At this time he also helped David Icke set up The Peoples Voice online.

20 + years.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
Hip-Hop but I like to experiment and not just make boombap beats. I like west coast vibes

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Listening to Hip-Hop in the Mid 1980’s & the struggle of a single parent council house

What are your biggest musical influences?
LL Cool J, Easy-E, Dre, Bootsy Collins, Dr John – a huge range

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
Indie all the way

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Working with egos, and expectations of others

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
This is my second album. I have dropped a few singles. I was a manager of a well known underground UK Hip-Hop crew also from Luton

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
It’s a mix of street music with a bunch of underground MCs and singers including snippets from my documentaries.
